We were introduced to one another by our mutual friend OKC a.k.a. OKCupid.com in October 2013 – Hey online dating is where it’s at! LOL Mike messaged me. I replied. After a few messages I figured he wasn’t a weirdo and we had our first date over sushi on 11/6/13. Even though Mike was late (because I gave him the wrong address) it was an entertaining evening. We didn’t know when we would have the opportunity to see each other again, as I was getting ready to go on a trip for my 30th birthday, but we continued to talk and text throughout the days afterwards. While I was on my cruise, Mike was the only person I called while at sea! The second date didn’t come for another few weeks, but by then Mike was hooked and it was Game Over! Since then we’ve experienced career changes, traveled and grew in our love for each other. We look forward to spending the rest of our lives together and of course, to many more adventures to come!
It’s really interesting how we met. We were introduced to one another on OKCupid.com. I remembered sending her a message and at the bottom of her profile page in BIG red letters it read: “Replies Selectively”. My first thought was, “Whoa, I hope she’s not stuck up.” But I went for it anyway and BOOM! She couldn’t resist the casa nova vibes I sent her thru the wire. I remember that our first date was in Quincy at some sushi place and it almost didn’t happen because I couldn’t find parking, plus she gave me the wrong address. We met up at the restaurant and we hit it off really well. We stayed in touch, constantly talking throughout the day, and went on several dates after.
One particular date that stood out among all of them was when I invited Jules to my company’s Christmas party. When she met one of my coworkers, she said her name was Lorraine, then Julie, then back to Lorraine. It was not only a surprise to them, but a surprise to me as well, because I’ve been calling her Jules up into that point. Backstory: Her OKC profile name had “Jules” in it, and when we started to talk she said I could call her Jules. Since then, we’ve grown to learn all there is to know about one another, we’re loved by each other’s family, I met all 276 of her friends (smile), experienced career changes, and enjoyed traveling. I realize Jules was not only becoming my new best friend but someone I was truly in love with very much. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her and I’m happy that our friends and family can join us to witness our upcoming wedding.
